I know we're approaching a quarter of the way into 2024 but 2023 was quite a roller coaster for me.

I went on my first international tour with Jody Oberfelder Projects,

I got married, I earned my Gyrotonic® certification,

I performed in the premier of Rhythm Bath with Studio Susan Marshall at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival,

I performed Garden Party and Body/Shadow with Douglas Dunn + Dancers, I subbed a Cunningham Class at Julliard and I was injured for the whole year. I feel like I experienced some of the best moments of my life and some of the worst and they came very close together. In November I decided I need to take time to really heal and after several months off from dancing my body has finally turned the corner and I am looking forward to feeling strong and healthy again in 2024.

I am slowly finding my way back into dance classes and working on a solo project. Its a way for me to stay connected while moving at my own pace and it gives me the chance to explore my interest in choreography which has been on the back burner for many years. I am also looking around at the dance world and re-evaluating what I want as I return to performing. It feels like the beginning of a new chapter and I am excited to see what it holds.

In my teaching world, I am busy! I am teaching a weekly Monday night beginner class at Fluid Fitness (you are always welcome to drop in) and I will be teaching a 4 week beginner series at Kinespirit starting April 7th. Gyrotonic has definitely helped my healing process over the last few months and is having an impact on how I move overall. If your curious please reach out I'd love to work with you!

I hope to see you in the studio, out for coffee, at a show!

Happy spring!

I have two projects coming up in June and in addition to that I am in rehearsals for two other projects so my body is very busy and my mind is full. I have truly enjoyed working on both of these projects so I hope to see you at one or both of them.

The first project is "Solace" choreographed by Garnet Henderson and it is a beautiful piece that travels through Inwood Hill Park.

"Solace" Saturday June 18th & Sunday June 26th 2pm Choreography by Garnet Henderson Free; no reservations necessary Details can be found HERE "An unconventional, immersive dance experience celebrating Inwood Hill Park"

The second project is "Banderole" choreographed by Ian Spencer Bell. I performed this piece last summer in the Berkshires and I am very excited to be returning to the work this summer in NYC.

"Banderole" Thursday June 23, Friday June 24, Saturday June 25 10-10:30 a.m. Pier 64 at Hudson River Park at the West Side Highway and 24th Street in Chelsea Free; no reservations necessary Details can be found HERE

"Audience members follow the dancers as they whip, wave, and unfurl along the paths, lawns, and promenades."

Fall of 2020 found us all searching for something. A new routine, a connection to what we had been doing before, anything to keep us grounded. I ended up creating a short film. It started out as just a way to keep myself dancing. Everyday I would go to a park bench on Randall's Island and dance for a few hours. Over time, I realized I needed a goal to work towards so I decided to make a short solo for film. Please enjoy!
